As the ConvergeCONSUMER Optimization Data Scientist , you will play a critical role in designing multiple innovative products that leverage AI / ML to help consumer businesses anticipate and react to what consumers want, with a critical focus on optimization.

The Role

As the Optimization Data Scientist , you will be responsible for ensuring that our products continually integrate the latest optimization techniques to address top of the mind use cases for our clients. Your days will be spent helping frame business problems into data science solutions, researching latest optimization techniques, and providing technical direction to product teams. Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Product Managers and Product Owners to understand market needs and provide hands-on technical thought leadership to solve these problems through advanced AI / ML capabilities

Lead the design and development of production grade AI / ML product capabilities

Stay abreast of AI / ML technologies, academic research and analytical trends

Evaluate different technical approaches to solve problems and articulate recommendations on the right methodologies that ML engineers should follow

Stay involved in the agile software development lifecycle by reviewing user stories and participating in sprint reviews

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from a top-tier university; Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field is a plus

6+ years' experience leading / implementing data science solutions with heavy emphasis on optimization

Operations Research experience in one of more of the following: Linear & Nonlinear Optimization, Mixe d Integer Programming, Stochastic Programming, Modeling & S i mulation

Familiarity with consumer related data and a general interest in the retail, consumer products manufacturing, automotive, transportation, or hospitality sectors

Deep understanding of data science principles, including machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence concepts

Analytical mind with proven ability to dissect problems, devise data science solutions, and drive business outcomes

Knowledge of and experience working with data architectures, data models, and data security and data governance

Experience developing, implementing and maintaining machine learning and advanced statistical algorithms

Experience working with large quantitative and qualitative datasets both hands on and managing teams doing the work

Prior experience with one or more optimization solvers ( Gurobi , CPLEX, Pyomo )

Proven skills in various programming and database languages, such as Python, PySpark , SQL

Experience with BI/analytics tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI , or similar tools

Experience using statistical computer languages to prepare data for analysis, visualize data as part of exploratory analysis, generate features, and other similar data science driven data handling

Experience working with data science tools, e.g., TensorFlow/ Keras , PyTorch , Sklearn

Experience in cloud-based eco-systems such GCP, AWS, or Azure for development and deployment of models

Experience with collaborative development on a team of no fewer than 3 engineers/scientists

Preferred:

Strong storytelling skills with experience presenting to large technical and non-technical audiences

A desire to take initiative and continuously work on improving the products you are responsible for

Experience with Docker and containers

Experience with GIT, GitHub, BitBucket or other commercial version control system

Experience with Agile development and Scrum practices

Experience with one or more hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $132,000-$241,000.

o You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
