A leading biometrics and augmented identity company is looking for a motivated and results-driven remote Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of 4 people. The ideal individual will be providing hands-on assistance to a team of web developers to deliver initiatives. In addition, this individual will be coordinating with the Casablanca Development Team and European Business Unit. This position is fully remote and can work any time zone in the US. Travel to France and Casablanca may be required, travel will be reimbursed.
The position is within the MBIS team which is responsible for the development of the world's leading Criminal Justice Biometric systems, serving a vast number of Law Enforcement agencies around the world from local PDs to the largest and most prestigious National and Federal agencies on the Planet.
The successful candidate will lead the Thin Clients team through a major strategic initiative to replace our rich java-based applications by lightweight, scalable web applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Angular and React, as well as a deep understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching the team in TDD and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable web applications that adhere to the company's branding and deliver outstanding user experience. The candidate will also work in close collaboration with our Casablanca development team and our European Business Unit.
Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure team is delivering quality work on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth and
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define, prioritize, and deliver on project requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5-10 years of experience in IT
- 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on Software Engineering Manager
- Proven experience managing and leading a team of web developers.
- Experience with React and Angular on the frontend
- Experience with Java and NodeJS on the backend
- In-depth understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) principles and practices.
- Ability to travel to France and Morocco 1 week every 6/8 weeks to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- Experience as a technical Scrum Master
- Moving Java-based clients to a web-based environment
- Experience collaborating with UX team
